Trevor Morris. Head Gamekeeper.
Trevor retired from Blagdon on the 3rd July after 35 years of service to the Estate. We all wish him a long and happy retirement.
Trevor's post is not being filled, his work will be undertaken by a conservation group of volunteers. This group have their own areas to look after and may be introducing themselves to residents in the weeks to come, they will all be issued with identity badges.
Blagdon is a managed country estate and we are committed to conservation of our wildlife and habitat.. This involves many tasks, some of which may seem strange to the uninitiated, but are essential if we are to manage our estate in a sustainable way, as we have done for many years.
If you have any concerns or queries, please contact me and I will try to help.

Macmillan Charity Day Sunday 12th July
The final results are in, MacMillan raised over £17,700 for their charity, well done them, and thank you to all who helped on the day, and who turned up to support this event.

Future Events.
Thank you to Mrs Defty who has kindly offered to help in organising and helping at future events. We will be looking for helpers for the Red Cross Day on 18th October and also people willing to do a bit of baking for both that event and the proposed Halloween event on the 31st October.

Please, if you are willing to help let me know.

New Tenants.
We welcome Robert MacKenzie and his family who will be moving into Town Farm House soon, Doreen Robson is moving into 3 Town Farm Cottages folloing Mr Kinsley Taylor's departure. We will shortly be welcoming Mr and Mrs Hall to 2 Town Farm Cottages who have told me they hope to become involved in our community of helpers, and will be most welcome. Joining the Blagdon community soon is Mr Noble who will be moving in to 2 Seven Mile House Cottages soon. All are very welcome and I look forward to hopefully seeing them at our forthcoming events.

Northumberlandia.
You may have seen the press coverage of the Northumberlandia launch at the start of July. I have updated the web page with the latest information. Northumberlandia is shaping up to be a major project produced by Banks and Blagdon for the benefit of the region. We are very excited about the potential that this project promises and we are sure that we will all be very proud when the park is opened to the public, which is scheduled for 2012.

NCCPG Plant Fair.
Do not forget the Annual Plant Fair held by the NCCPG, this year it will be held on Sunday 13th September. Click on poster to enlarge.

Can You Help?
The tenants committee have had a few ideas and we would like to see if anyone within the community would be willing to help.
Apart from the baking requirements for Red Cross days, where we are always grateful for offers of cakes and especially scones, we are considering reviving the tenant's plant stall for the April Opening. Is anyone willing to grow any plants for sale at this event? In the past several tenants have kindly produced small plants grown from seed and we have sold these at Red Cross Day. If enough people contribute then the requirement for each contributor is very small. Just an idea, but half a dozen small pots even on a window sill would do the job. say Tomato plants, flowers, anything really.

If you would be willing to help please email me, if there are enough people willing to do this we will set out our stall in April.
