| The Blagdon Summer Event this year was held on the 10th July.
Traditionally the weather treated us to the usual downpour just as the
band struck up at night, but thankfully the warm weather took the edge
off a lot of people being soaked to the skin! Overall it was another
excellent day and so nice to see so many tenants attending and joining
in. The un-forecast gales on the Sunday ruined a lot of peoples gazebos
unfortunately including destroying the estates own marquees, it was a
reminder however that in such windy conditions it can be extremely
dangerous with all sorts of things being blown around and we will have
to ask people not to enter the area should similar gales happen again to
prevent accidents. The committee will be meeting again shortly to plan our Halloween event and to start thinking about next years summer event. Once again any suggestions or offers of help are gratefully received. Click HERE for pictures taken on the day. |

| Garden Competition. | ||
| Many thanks to all who entered this years gardens competition which
was judged by Lord Ridley. the standard again was incredibly high and it
was a difficult decision to pick the winners. Lord Ridley decided to
make five awards rather than the planned four and the results were:
First: Yvonne and Helen Steele, Second: John Mitchinson, Third:
Joan Hope and joint Fourth: Clare and Will Cuthbertson and Anne and Norman
Yeaman. Congratulations to all who took part it was a pleasure to be
able to visit so many magnificent gardens. We plan to have a meeting later in the year to discuss the future of the gardens competition and to see if it can be improved and how more people can be come involved. |

| Northumberlandia. | ||
| Northumberlandia is shaping up to be a major project
produced by Banks and Blagdon for the benefit of the
region. We are very excited about the potential that this
project promises and we are sure that we will all be very
proud when the park is opened to the public, which is
scheduled for Summer 2013.Work has now commenced on site, initially with
the construction of the car park, soil stripping is due to commence once
access has been formed from the Shotton Site. There is an advisory
committee comprising of representatives from interested parties, who are
meeting to discuss how to promote and develop Northumberlandia for the
future, should anyone have any views I am happy to bring them to the
attention of the advisory group, and design team. If you have any thoughts or suggestions about Northumberlandia, please speak to me and I will pass your comments to the design team. |
