New tenants.
A belated welcome to John and Terri Nicholson who have moved into Deepdale in the village, I am sure that they will be a great assett to both the village and estate.. Both John and Terri have shown great enthusiasm for the Blagdon community and we have gratefully welcomed them on to the tenants committee this year planning estate events for 2009.

Events 2009.
Planning has started for this years events and we hope to repeat both the Easter Egg Trail and Summer Event, details will be sent out in due course. Please feel free to offer help and suggestions, we are always looking for fresh ideas.
The tenants are planning to run the two Red Cross days this year. traditionally these have been organised and run by Red Cross volunteers. This year we intend to run everything ourselves with a group of estate volunteers. We hope that we can make a lot of money for the Red Cross and have a bit of fun on the day. Hopefully if things go well we might be able to add some extra activities for future events.
We are really encouraged with the amount of willing helpers we have amonst our tenants, I appreciate people giving their time to contribute to the Blagdon Community and it is particularly gratifying to be able to help raise funds for charities. So a big thank you to all who are helping and building on the strong sense of community that we all enjoy at Blagdon.

Winter Weather
We are now well into the coldest winter for many years. Please take care when walking or driving around the estate, as estate paths and roads can become very slippery. Please take all precautions to keep your house warm and to help prevent frozen pipes. There are local companies who can help advise on draught proofing and energy saving to help keep utility bills down. Warm Zone have been found to be quite good, they can be contacted on 01670 356642.

Work is now well underway at Shotton as many of you will have seen. The planning for the land form sculpture, "Northumberlandia" continues to progress and we hope to have a final design prepared in the next month or two. I will try and put more information on the web site when it is available.
