Easter Trails.
Thanks to everyone who helped and attended this years Easter Egg Trails organised by the Blagdon events Committee on Good Friday. A wonderful event once again thanks to the hard work of the helpers and organisers. Click this link for photographs of the day.
Red Cross Open Gardens.

We had to postpone the open gardens from Easter Sunday until the 18th April due to the extreme wet weather. Unfortunately the weather on the 18th was not kind and visitor numbers were very low. despite that we raised over £2,000 which was a credible amount and mainly due to the hard work of the organisers and helpers. A big thank you to Terri and John Nicholson who went "above and beyond" in helping to organise this event.
This event also saw the maiden voyage of the new estate people trailer, very smartly driven by Lawrence. I am sure this trailer will make many more appearances on open days in the future.

National Gardens Scheme Open Gardens 23rd May.

We welcome the National Gardens Scheme to Blagdon on the 23th May for the very first time. The are organising an open gardens event from 1 to 5pm with adult entry being charged at £3.50. there will be refreshments available. I hope that many people can come along to support the NGS who, if you don't know are a charity founded in 1927 and have The Prince of Wales as their Patron. They hold garden openings across England and Wales and support several  nursing and caring charities. We are very pleased to be able to offer Blagdon as one of these open gardens and wish them well with their event. I have a complimentary entry ticket worth £7 to give away to the first person to e mail me with the name of the 4th Viscount Ridley's 4th child.

Blagdon Cricket Club, Fundraising Event Sunday 20th June.

Watch out for this event being planned by the Blagdon Park Cricket Club. The day is to help raise funds for the club who have recently completed a superb extension to the cricket pavilion. I am told that the club was started in 1898 and that the existing pavilion was completed 1908. The club now has a healthy current membership and a proud list of previous members and visitors. the club supports young players and holds an annual schools event, and we wish them a good day in June.

Macmillan Cancer Support. Open gardens Sunday 27th June.

Macmillan are holding an Open gardens and Charity Cricket tournament again on Sunday 27th June. Please see adjacent poster for details. I hope that the weather is kind on the day and that they will have plenty of support.  Click HERE for further details.

Northumberlandia.
Northumberlandia is shaping up to be a major project produced by Banks and Blagdon for the benefit of the region. We are very excited about the potential that this project promises and we are sure that we will all be very proud when the park is opened to the public, which is scheduled for Summer 2013.

The planning is now well advanced, and work is scheduled to start in May 2010.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions about Northumberlandia, please speak to me and I will pass your comments to the design team.
