Ken Gray. This month we say farewell to Ken who retires as Estate Foreman on the 9th October. Ken started work at Blagdon in 1962 as an apprentice stone mason and has worked here ever since, for the last ten years as foreman. Ken leaves many monuments to his work in the maintenance department, possibly the most impressive being the carved stone plaque to celebrate the garter on the north wall of the Hall. He will continue part time on the estate working at the hall directly for Matt and will also be helping Marilyn with cooking for occasional functions, he is swapping his leather apron for a more domestic version. we all wish Ken a happy and health retirement, with our thanks for all that he has done for the estate in his long service.

Belated birthday wishes to Matthew White Ridley the ninth who was 14 years old on the 27th September!

The South Drive is now closed to allow coal extraction; the North Drive is open through the day for cars only please. Please take care if using the North Drive as it is narrow and rather wooded, so please keep your speed down!
