    Lockdown and Blagdon Estate

    Firstly, may I wish you all a Happy New Year and despite the difficulties you all managed to have an enjoyable festive period.

    As you will all know, the country was placed into Lockdown 3 on the 4th of January 2021.  As with Tier 4, there is a requirement for people to work from home where they are able to.  However, if your work cannot be done from home employees are permitted to attend their place of work.  Therefore, our maintenance and grounds teams are still working but to ensure their health, along with the wider estate community's health, we will only be completing essential maintenance works for the forseeable future.  Any maintenance requests should be logged by telephone with the estate office in the first instance and the severity of the issue will then be assessed and subsequently actioned immediately or logged for the future.

    The estate office is operating as normal but with reduced numbers of staff in the office.  However, we are not allowing any visitors to enter the premises nor are we arranging any meetings with tenants or third parties.  If you need to speak to any of us, please telephone us on 01670 789621.

    With the emergence of the new variant of COVID-19, which appears to be significantly more contagious, all of us need to be more careful.  The estate staff have been briefed to maintain suitable social distancing.  If you do see us out and about, please help us to help all of you by not coming too close - I promise we are not being rude!

    There is now significant light at the end of the tunnel with the vaccine roll out gaining speed but please, until we are all protected, remember to wash your hands, wear a face covering and maintain space.

     

    Flat to Let:

    An opportunity is due to arise, early 2021 to rent a one bedroomed apartment flat within the walls of Blagdon Estate.   The property benefits from its own entrance, a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom, flooring and amazing views across the estate.  It has a garage and parking for one vehicle.  Sorry but this property is not suitable for pets.  To enquire about this flat, please phone the estate office during our opening hours shown below.

    Horse Riders - Blagdon has seen an increase in the number of horse riders using our estate.  As Blagdon is a private estate, we would ask that anyone wishing to ride on the estates land to purchase a horse riding permit.  The permits are sold annually, on a first come first served basis, for £150.    Applications for permits have now closed and applicants will be notified by the beginning of January 2021, if they have been succesful. The 2021 riders will be issued with a new hi-viz 2021 tabbard, to be worn at all times and should carry their permits which should be presented as and when required to do so.

    South Beach Development:

    We are very pleased to announce that planning permission was recently granted for our 'Coastal Hub' at South Beach, Blyth NE24 3PG.

    This is an exciting opportunity for retail and leisure-based businesses, to let units in such a beautiful part of Northumberland.  South Beach benefits from a very diverse landscape, long, sandy beaches, which is extremely popular with visitors.

    Estate Office opening hours are Monday - Friday, from 9am - 2pm.  Outside of these hours we offer an appointment only service.  Enquiries and reports of repairs can be made by telephone to the office during the reception opening hours.  The office telephone number is: 01670 789621. We offer an out of hours, emergency contact telephone number for tenants which can be obtained through the answerphone.

    One of our day nurseries has recently been taken over and has re-opened its doors.  From September the nursery will open from 7am-7pm for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years old.
