Welcome to the December edition of the Blagdon Bull newsletter. This is the last edition for this year.

The clocks have now gone back, the temperatures have dropped and its time to wrap up and prepare for the winter!

Christmas Opening hours:

The Estate office will close for Christmas at 12 noon on Friday 21st of December 2018 and is due to re-open on Thursday 2nd of January 2019.

Emergency Contact Numbers:

Gas Emergencies

If you smell gas telephone: 0800 111 999. Turn off the gas immediately at the meter, contact emergency gas service to ask them to attend.


If you suffer a power cut telephone: 105 (free).  This is the national emergency number and they will put you through to your local electricity network operator.

Matthew Williamson, Agent for Blagdon is available on his mobile (tel: 07824 437940) to deal with any other estate type emergencies. Matthew will assess whether to call contractors out on a case by case basis.

Blagdon Tenants/Residents committee update:-

The Chairman, Bob Downer and the committee have made the decision to stand down and their last event will be the Red Cross Day on Sunday 14th of April 2019.  Our thanks goes to Bob and the committee for all of their hard work and for all of the effort they have put into the events at Blagdon over the years.    In 2019, a new committee will be formed and we hope to be able to host events such as Easter trails and Halloween at Blagdon for families on the estate and their children.  More details to follow, next year!


Dates for the 2019 charity events at Blagdon:-

In addition to the Red Cross Open Day (14th of April), Blagdon will also be hosting the following events/open days in 2019:-

Wooden Spoon walk - Sunday 12th May

National Gardens Scheme - Sunday 19th May

Hospice Care - Sunday 2nd June

Concert (Walled Garden) - Saturday 15th June

Plant Heritage (plant fair) - Sunday 7th July

Macmillan/Marie Curie - Sunday 1st September

Stannington Horse Ride - Sunday 6th October


The White Bridge remains closed. This will be closed until next year and there is no access until the bridge is repaired.


The new Blagdon signage has been put in place to remind visitors that the estate is private (by appointment only) and that we have CCTV covering the areas. If anyone has any questions regarding the signage please email:

Neighbourhood Police:

PC 8603 Andrea Teasdale is the neighbourhood officer for for Blagdon and can be contacted on tel:101 or by email; if you have any non-urgent issues or concerns to discuss with her.




Residential & Commercial lettings:-

We welcome the new residential and commercial tenants at Blagdon. We wish them all the very best in their new properties.

Blagdon do currently have some residential properties and commercial spaces available, please contact the office on tel: 01670 789621 for details.




Dog Walkers:-

Staff and residents of Blagdon are welcome to walk their dogs on the estate, but should keep to the designated paths and clean up after their dogs. Dogs should be kept on leads and under control at all times.



Tree felling and timber operations are ongoing on the this estate.  Please take care whilst you are out and about and observe the signs.
