October 2018

Welcome to the October edition of the Blagdon Bull newsletter.

Despite clutching onto the last of the sunshine, the summer is now sadly over.  September has drawn to an end and we are, unbelievably, entering into October, the tenth month of 2018.

The leaves on the trees are starting to take on new colours and the temperatures are dropping outside.  Its time to think about heating the house, topping up the gas/oil tanks. And, if you have had permission for an open fire/wood/multi fuel burner, checking your stores before winter is upon us all.  Remember to also have those chimneys swept and to check your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.

Maintenance and Grounds:-

Throughout this year, Blagdon's maintenance team have been busy carrying out maintenance work across the estate and some sizeable refurbishment projects.  The grounds team have been working hard in the trees, hedge cutting and grass cutting in various places on the estate.  The work carried out and the care taken by the staff (and contractors) on the estate makes Blagdon such a lovely place which we all can appreciate.

Happy Birthday Brian:-

Our maintenance team would not be complete without Brian, the joiner, who celebrated a 'special' birthday recently.  Brian said he had a lovely birthday and we hope he doesnt have to wait until next year for another full english breakfast.

Halloween update - unfortunately the Blagdon tenants committee has had to postpone this years event after all.   With the support of the committee members, staff and volunteers we hope to host another event in 2019.
